Valentine's Day

Yes, Valentine Day is about our loved ones and how much we love them and we give them something that shows our affection. Valentine was a priest back in the day during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine realizing that what he was doing was wrong so he put young couples to get married in secret. Some say that Valentine's Day is the celebration for Valentine death or burial.  Christian church may have decided to place St. Valentine’s feast day in the middle of February in an effort to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia. A day after they announced that February 14 is the day for Valentine a day later they already associated it with love. During the Middle Ages, It was commonly known that France and England were knowing that this month and day is when it should be about romance. Valentine greeting were popular back in the Middle Ages, but didn't begin to appear until after 1400. The oldest as known today was a poem written in 1415 by a man named Charles. Several years later it is believed that King Henry V hired a writer to write to his wife about his feelings. For the Untied States we celebrated around the 17th century. In the middle of the 18th century, it was common that friends and lovers of all exchanged small tokens for a handwritten note. By the 1900 cards were already imprinted and improving with technology.
